Power Savior P-500
Pool pumps consume a significant amount of energy and are often the second largest energy consumer in a
household after the air conditioner. The Power Savior P500 (PS-P500) is an electronic controller that converts a
single speed pool pump into a variable speed pool pump. The PS-P500 can be installed by qualified professionals in
60 to 90 minutes. Retrofitting a single speed pool pump with the PS-P500 is one of the smartest moves a pool
owner can make—and not just for the sake of the electric bill. Here's why it’s worth the “retrofit upgrade”:
Energy Efficiency = Major Savings
Single-speed pumps run at full throttle (around 3,450 RPM) every time, regardless of the task. The Power Savior
P500 Controller allows the flow rate of a single speed pool pump to be adjusted according to the task—like lower
flow rates for filtration and higher flow rates for vacuuming. This flexibility can cut energy use by up to 70%, saving
hundreds of dollars per year on electricity.
Quieter Operation and Longer Equipment Life
The PS-P500 allows single speed pool pumps to run much quieter at lower speeds, making the pool area more
peaceful and relaxing. Running at lower speeds also reduces wear and tear on the pump and less strain on the
filter and plumbing resulting in reduced maintenance costs and extended lifespan.
Environmentally Friendly
Lower energy consumption means a smaller carbon footprint, aligning with eco-conscious living.
Smart Features & Control
The Power Savior P500 comes with digital controls and astronomical programmable timers. The pump schedule
can be fine-tuned for optimal performance and efficiency.
Rebates & Regulations
Many utility companies offer rebates for installing energy-efficient upgrades and retrofits.
In the State of California single-speed pumps are being phased out due to energy regulations described under
Title 20.
Power Savior HV-1000
Heating and cooling account for approximately 50% of the energy usage in a typical U.S. home. The U.S. Energy
Information Administration (EIA) reports that HVAC systems represent approximately 35% of residential energy
consumption. In warmer climates like Southern California, air conditioning dominates, especially during peak
summer months, pushing HVAC’s share even higher. A recent study conducted by the State of California of GSA
Energy Solutions’ HVAC Capacity Controller showed that the cooling capacity of traditional split and packaged
air conditioners operating between 60 and 45 hertz was approximately equal. The Power Savior HV1000 (PS-
HV1000) is a controller that can be retrofitted to conventional HVAC system and is based on HVAC Capacity
Controller technology. The PS-HV1000 is great for upgrading older systems allowing them to operate similarly to
an Inverter air conditioner without replacing the entire unit. The benefits of adding the Power Savior HV1000 to a
conventional split or package AC are:
Energy Savings
The PS-HV1000 allows condensers to run at variable speeds, reducing energy consumption during part-load
conditions. Since HVAC systems often operate below peak load, this can lead to noticeable savings.
Improved Comfort
By reducing fan or compressor speed the system can maintain more stable indoor temperatures while maintain
cooling capacity.
Reduced Wear and Tear
Soft starts and fewer on/off cycles reduce mechanical stress on motors, potentially extending equipment life.
Lower Noise Levels
Slower fan speeds mean quieter operation, especially during low-demand periods.
Environmentally Friendly
Lower energy consumption means a smaller carbon footprint, aligning with eco-conscious living.
